A person to whom a citation has been issued shall have ten (10) business days from the date of issuance to respond to the citation either by paying the fine or by filing an appeal. If payment or request for an appeal is not received within the allotted time, a late fee shall be assessed, and the University may take any authorized action to enforce the penalty.

Appeals of citations for University parking infractions may be instituted by filing a written appeal by clicking on the link on the home page to appeal online (for persons with a Panther ID only) or you may click on the link below to download the Citation Appeal form. County citations are not open to appeal through the University appeal process. County citations must be processed through the Miami-Dade County Court system. Inability to locate parking spaces or the failure of others to observe these rules shall not be considered to be valid defenses. The appeal shall include a current and accurate address and/or email address where notices can be sent and received. Completed appeals will be forwarded by the Department of Parking and Transportation to an Appeal Hearing Officer for review and decision. Appellants do not have the option to appear in person.
