Q: What do I need to obtain a FIU student decal?
A: You must be currently registered for classes and have a valid vehicle registration.

Q: How and when do I receive my decal?
A: If you order a decal online, then it will be mailed to the address selected during the online transaction. The Information is received and processed the day after the transaction. Therefore, please allow approximately one week for delivery.

Q: How do I obtain a student decal for additional vehicles?
A: To obtain a duplicate decal, the 2nd vehicle registration must match the address on the original decal registration. One year hangtag for students $16.05. This may be obtained online (at our homepage) or in one of our offices.

Q: Where can I park with a FIU student decal?
A: Any student space on campus, including surface lots and all garages. Student spaces are plain white or unmarked bumper blocks.

Q: What do I do if I am not driving the vehicle with the FIU decal?
A: If you are driving a temporary vehicle, you will need to obtain a temporary parking permit. Temporary permits are free of charge if you have a valid FIU decal and no outstanding tickets. You will need to know the license plate number of the temporary vehicle being used.

Q: How do I appeal a citation?
A: Click on the icon on the home page. Appeal forms are also available in all Parking and Transportation offices. Appeals must be submitted no later than 10 business days from the date of the citation.

Q: What are the office hours and locations?
A: Monday thru Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Offices are located in the Gold and Blue Parking Garages at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Office location at the Biscayne Bay Campus is WUC 353.

Q: Where can I obtain a temporary disabled permit?
A: Disability Services is located in GC 190 at MMC or WUC 139 at BBC.

Q: Where do visitors park and how much is it?
A: Visitor parking is located in Lot 3, Lot 33 and in the Gold, Blue, Red and Panther Parking Garages at UP. At BBC, visitor parking is located in Lot 1 and in Lot 2. The rates are $1.00 per hour with a maximum daily rate of $8.00. Meters are located throughout both campuses at $0.25 per 15 minutes.

Q: What is the Panther Express?
A: Panther Express is bus transportation between Modesto A. Maidique Campus and Biscayne Bay campus. Tickets are sold in each Parking office, the Graham Center, and at the WUC Information Desk at BBC. The schedule is available online and at the locations where the tickets are sold. Bus stops are located next to the Gold Garage at MMC and at in front of ACI at BBC.

Q: How do I obtain a Miami-Dade Metro Bus Pass?
A: Metro bus passes are sold in the Gold Garage at MMC and at the WUC Information Desk at BBC. Effective November 2008, bus passes are $42.50 and the parking permit is $10.00. Only exact cash is accepted.

Q: Why do I need to pay the transportation access fee if I don't own a vehicle?
A: The transportation access fee, not only includes a parking decal, but also it pays for parking lot lights, maintenance, sidewalks, garages, emergency call boxes, etc. Additional information can be found under our "Student Access Fee" page.
