What are the office hours and locations?
Monday thru Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Offices are located in the Gold and Blue Parking Garages at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Office location at the Biscayne Bay Campus is Wolfe University Center 353. Our hours vary on holidays and during drop/add period. However, if there are any variations, they are posted on the home page.
Do I need an FIU student decal?
Yes, all vehicles parking on campus must have an FIU decal or pay for a metered space.
What do I need to obtain a FIU student decal?
You must be currently registered for classes and have a valid vehicle registration.
How and when do I receive my decal?
If you order a decal online, then it will be mailed to the address selected during the online transaction. The Information is received and processed the day after the transaction. Therefore, please allow approximately one week for delivery. If you receive a citation for "No Decal" in your specific parking section, appeal the citation and an appeal officer will review the dates of your citation and decal order.
How do I obtain a student decal for additional vehicles?
To obtain a duplicate decal, the 2nd vehicle registration must match the address on the original decal registration. One year hangtag for students $16.05. This may be obtained online (at our homepage) or in one of our offices.
How do I obtain a hanging decal?
Hangtags are for students only. These hangtags are for duplicate student vehicles, therefore an original sticker decal must be issued prior to a hangtag. One year hangtag for students $16.05. This may be obtained online (at our homepage) or in one of our offices.
Where can I park with a FIU student decal?
Any student space on campus, including surface lots and all garages. Student spaces are plain white or unmarked bumper blocks.
What do I do if I am not driving a vehicle with a FIU decal?
If you are driving a temporary vehicle, you will need to obtain a temporary parking permit. Temporary permits are free of charge if you have a valid FIU decal and no outstanding tickets. You will need to know the license plate number of the temporary vehicle being used.
Where do visitors park and how much is it?
Visitor parking is located in Lot 3, Lot 33 and in the Gold, Blue, Red and Panther Parking Garages at MMC. At BBC, visitor parking is located in Lot 1 and in Lot 2. The rates are $1.00 per hour with a maximum daily rate of $8.00. Individual metered spaces are located throughout both campuses at $0.25 per 15 minutes.
Do I need to pay the transportation access fee if I don't own a vehicle?
Yes. The transportation access fee, not only includes a parking decal, but also it pays for parking lot lights, maintenance, sidewalks, garages, emergency call boxes, etc. Additional information can be found under our Student Access Fee page.
How do I pay for a citation?
Click on the icon on the home page. Citation payments may be remitted in person or mailed to any of our offices.
How do I appeal a citation?
Click on the icon on the home page. Appeal forms are also available in all Parking and Transportation offices. Appeals must be submitted no later than 10 business days from the date of the citation.
How do I locate a citation online?
Citations consist of up to 10 characters, letters and/or numbers. If your citation is hand written (gold colored,) it may have 6 or 7 digits only. These citations will need "0000" or "000" before the citation number. When locating your citation online, there should always be 10 characters total for hand-written citations. Printed citations (white and blue,) will have numbers and letters in the citation number. These specific citation numbers consist of 9 characters. If there is any issue locating a citation online, please try the vehicle's license plate, which will also be located on your citation.
Where can I obtain a temporary disabled permit?
Disability Services is located in GC 190 at MMC or WUC 139 at BBC.
Is transportation provided to the other campuses?
Yes. The Golden Panther Express (GPE) transports between Modesto A. Maidique Campus and Biscayne Bay campus. Tickets must be purchased for the GPE. The CATS Shuttle provides transportataion between the Modesto A. Maidique Campus and Engineering Campus. Please see our FIU Bus Schedule section for more information.
Where can I purchase tickets for the GPE?
Tickets are sold in each Parking office, the Graham Center, and at the WUC Information Desk at BBC. The schedule is available online and at the locations where the tickets are sold.
How do I obtain a Miami-Dade Metro Bus Pass?
Metro bus passes are sold in the Gold Garage at MMC and at the WUC Information Desk at BBC. Effective November 2008, bus passes are $42.50 and the parking permit is $10.00. Only exact cash is accepted.
My car was booted/towed. What do I do?
The balance of citations and fees must be paid in order for your vehicle to be released. Before 5:00pm, the balance should be paid in one of our offices. After 5:00pm, the balance can be paid at the FIU Police Department.
I am having an event and need to reserve parking. Who do I speak to?
