Parking Garages (Modesto A. Maidique Campus)

A current FIU parking decal is required to park in garage spaces. Current FIU decal holders cannot park in a visitor space without paying the additional fee for the metered space.

Garage hours:
Gold Garage and PG5 - Market Station
Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Blue Garage, Panther Garage, and Red Garage
6:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. Mondays – Fridays
Closed weekends and holidays, except for special events

No overnight parking is permitted in any of the garages. Vehicles must be removed prior to posted closing hours. Any vehicle left in the garage will be ticketed and is subject to towing at vehicle owner’s expense. Head-in parking only. Garage speed limit is 5 mph. Garage speed is radar-enforced.

 
Parking Lots

Posted signs, bumper blocks, and other markings designate the various parking areas on campus. Parking areas may be restricted by classification (Administrative, Executive, Faculty/Staff, etc.), time or purpose. These areas shall be considered no parking zones to those individuals who do not fall within the restriction of the classification.

 
Housing Lots

Residents of housing shall abide by the parking regulations contained in the housing agreement, in addition to the requirements of this rule. A valid FIU decal and Housing Sticker is required to park in housing lots.

No person, other than a current housing resident whose vehicle is left in a housing lot, shall leave a vehicle overnight on University property without notifying the FIU Police Department. Vehicles that are inoperable shall be reported immediately to the FIU Police Department. The University does not assume any responsibility for motor vehicles or their contents while they are parked on campus. Vehicles registered to current housing residents may be left in housing lots during session breaks, but in no event for more than three weeks, except with permission from University Housing.

Guests of housing residents without valid FIU parking decals must park and pay for a meter space when visiting campus. The Residence Halls do not provide guest permits.

 

Visitor Parking

Visitors may park in meters located throughout the campus. Metered parking is enforced daily, including weekends and holidays. If a meter is malfunctioning, parking in that space is prohibited. A current decal or permit does not entitle the driver to park in a metered parking space without paying the appropriate fee.

Metered spaces are available at a cost of 25 cents per 15 minutes except in PC Loading which are 50 cents per 15 minutes. Visitors can also park at the multi-space meters for $1.00 per hour with a maximum of $8.00 per day. University departments hosting an event can purchase garage visitor permits in advance.

 
Disabled Parking

Parking areas designated as disabled are enforced at all times and a current, state issued disabled placard/hang-tag or license plate must be visible and properly displayed. Placard registration, placard, and state issued identification card must be presented to the Parking Office to obtain a Disabled FIU Sticker. Employees and students of the University must display a decal in addition to the disabled placard/hang-tag or license plate.

There are designated disable spaces for "modified vehicles." In order to use these spaces, you must have a modified vehicle registration and placard.

 
Contractor and Vendors

Contractors or vendors visiting campus must obtain a valid parking permit or park and pay for a meter space. Parking permit options include C1, C30, C60 or C90 (durations vary from 1 to 90 days). Many of these permits allow vehicles use the loading zones for a limited amount of time. Contractors and vendors must provide a valid vehicle registration and driver's license.

 
Volunteers

Permits are available to anyone volunteering at the university. Parking permit options includeV30, V60 or V90 (durations vary from 30 to 90 days). Volunteers must provide a valid vehicle registration, a letter from the department stating the length of time, and driver's license.
