How do I appeal a citation?
Appeals, Citations and ImmobilizationsAnswer | To appeal a citation, log in to your parking account using your FIU credentials, hover over “Citations” in the navigation bar and click “Appeal Citation” from the drop-down menu. You may select the citation from the list or type the citation number into the text box. Citations may only be appealed within 10 business days from the issue date. All citations will have an issue date and a violation date. Appeals should only be filed if a legitimate basis exists. |

I received a citation, but I have never been on campus. Is this an error?
Appeals, Citations and ImmobilizationsAnswer | If a car is parked on campus without a parking permit, the citation is issued to the vehicle's registered owner. Vehicle information matching the license tag to the owner is acquired from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Typically, students do not own their vehicles, and the citations will be assigned to the owner. If you feel you've been wrongfully cited, contact Parking and Transportation. |

Why am I only allowed to park head-in?
ParkingAnswer | Head-in parking is enforced in garages and lots to check license plates for parking permits and to avoid common vehicle and traffic hazards. All parking spaces in each parking garage and lot require head-in parking. |

How do I get a Miami-Dade Transit Pass?
TransportationAnswer | Enrolled full-time students can purchase a discounted 1-Month College Mobile Pass by visiting MiamiDade.gov or by downloading the Go Miami-Dade Transit application on their phones. Use your FIU student email when registering for the pass to receive the discounted college rate. |

Can I park my car overnight at FIU?
ParkingAnswer | Currently enrolled students with an active permit may leave a vehicle overnight on university property. Visitors may leave their vehicle overnight so long as it is parked in a metered space and paid for during their stay. |

Can I park in the Parkview Housing Garage?
ParkingAnswer | Parkview Housing Garage is for housing students only. A housing garage semester virtual permit will be made available to those who desire better parking at the Parkview Housing Garage. Students may purchase this permit in their parking account for one or two semesters starting in the Fall semester. During the Summer semester, Parkview Housing Garage will have Pay-by-Phone spaces available for a daily rate for those who have a valid FIU parking permit. |

How much is a parking pass at FIU?
Parking, Parking FeesAnswer | Visitors can purchase a virtual parking permit for $1.25 for the first hour and $1 for every additional hour using the on-site Parkeon kiosks, PayByPhone or by downloading the PayByPhone application. Contractors and vendors can purchase a daily permit for $3.15 plus tax (student space) or a monthly permit for $28.35 plus tax (student space). |

Can I register more than one vehicle to my Virtual Permit?

What is the Transportation Access Fee?
Parking FeesAnswer | The Parking Access Fee is assessed to all students per semester as part of their enrollment fees except for students registered for a fully online degree program, students using tuition waivers, or otherwise classified as exempt. This fee funds the maintenance of parking facilities, sidewalks, garages, emergency call boxes, bicycle rack programs, lighting, etc. |

Is there transportation between campuses?

What if I am unable to find parking?
ParkingAnswer | There are over 12,000 parking spaces on campus. Not all parking spaces are located near campus buildings. The parking garage and garage auxiliary accommodate both faculty, staff and students. You can also use the FIU Mobile to find real-live space availability. |

What will happen if I don't pay my parking citations?

How do I register or update my vehicle information?
Adding or Updating Vehicle RegistrationAnswer | To register a new vehicle, log in to your parking account with your FIU credentials and add the vehicle's information and license plate number. To update your vehicle information, delete your active registration and replace it with the new vehicle information. Any vehicle you intend to park on campus must be listed in your parking account and registered to your permit to your parking permit. |

Where can I park?
ParkingAnswer | FIU has designated parking spaces for students, employees, visitors, contractors and vendors.
All events at FIU should register with Parking and Transportation to provide parking for the event. Attendees should refer to the event organizer’s parking instructions. If no information is provided, they must park in metered parking. |
