If you’re new to FIU or a regular commuter, we’re here to help you find parking on any of our campuses.

Space Availability

Motorist Assistance

FIU aids students, employees, visitors, vendors and contractors experiencing minor vehicle problems while on campus by providing vehicle jump-starts and offering free tire inflation stations across FIU campuses.

Don't Get a Ticket

  • FIU parking permits are virtual, but you can also buy a decorative decal in the book store to show off your Panther spirit
  • Register your vehicle online before the start of each semester
  • Multi-vehicle registration is available for up to three vehicles, but only one vehicle may be parked on any FIU campus at a time
  • Unmarked spaces are considered student spaces and require student permits
  • Visitors can park in metered spaces only
  • Only head-in parking is allowed
  • Parking on lawns, landscaped areas, sidewalks or roadways is not permitted
  • The absence of a “No Parking” sign does not mean parking is permissible in the area

FIU College of Business (COB) students should reach out to their program manager for a transponder to access the parking garage. Non-COB student vehicles will be valeted.

Parking FAQs

  • Where can I park?

    FIU has marked parking spaces which designate the permission needed to park in each space.

    • For student parking, all unmarked spaces are considered student spaces and require student permits.
    • Visitors can only park in metered parking lots and garages. To pay, use the on-site kiosks or the Pay-by-Phone parking application.
    • Contractors and vendors must register in one of our offices to obtain a parking permit.
    • Event attendees should refer to the event organizer’s parking instructions. All events at FIU should register with FIU Parking and Transportation to provide parking for event attendees. If no information is provided, you must park in metered parking.
  • Can I park in the Parkview Housing Garage?

    Parkview Housing Garage is for housing students only.

    • A housing garage semester virtual permit will be made available to those who desire a higher level of parking at the Parkview Housing Garage. Students may purchase this permit in their parking account for one or two semesters starting in the Fall semester.
    • During the Summer semester, Parkview Housing Garage will have Pay-by-Phone spaces available for a daily rate for those who have a valid FIU parking permit.
